Entry level meter designed for general purpose moisture detection.
The Protimeter Mini is a small hand held “resistance type” moisture meter that is used for identifying damp problems in building materials. Its simple to use one button operation makes it ideal as an entry level, general purpose meter.
To take a dampness measurement, the Protimeter Mini’s pins are pushed into the substrate and a numerical reading is displayed.
As with all resistance type moisture meters, the Protimeter Mini is calibrated for wood. All moisture measurements on masonry, concrete, etc… are therefore expressed as Wood Moisture Equivalent (WME). Whilst Wood Moisture Equivalent readings are of little use for determining the actual moisture content of building materials, a pattern of readings (for example, taken at 10cm intervals up a masonry wall) can assist an experienced surveyor in identifying dampness problems.
The Protimeter Mini moisture meter is supplied with an extension pin probe and a calibration tool.
